Head of Finance

About the role:

The Head of Finance will have oversight of all aspects of the company finances and be our go-to person when it comes to anything numbers related – they are our Financial guru, and we trust them to keep us right. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to set up the Finance Function, creating and delivering a strategy which complements our unique culture and values, whilst being accountable for key areas such as financial control, reporting, operations, planning and analysis.

 

You will be:

  • Leading the way in creating, defining, and implementing our finance strategy and objectives, in keeping with AgileCadence’s unique culture and values.
  • Responsible for the delivery of an effective finance function which supports AgileCadence in its growth and delivery.
  • Developing, implementing, and documenting finance controls, processes and procedures, ensuring that these are communicated, understood and followed.
  • Responsible for ensuring that management accounts are accurately produced and delivered to the Leadership Team as per agreed timelines.
  • Overseeing the annual budgeting process, regular budget reviews and conducting forecasts using AgileCadence’s financial forecasting tool.
  • Working closely with other Heads of Departments and Delivery Leads to help manage service contracts.
  • Supporting the Chief Technology Officer and Head of Delivery in negotiating project contracts.
  • Overseeing the delivery of the monthly payroll, ensuring that our awesome team are paid on time and all transactions are managed smoothly.
  • You will have line management responsibility for any employees within the Finance Team, providing leadership and guidance where required, whilst also ensuring that development plans are in place.

  • Flexible – you understand that you may be asked to take on other responsibilities or tasks that are not referred to above, but that fall within the remit of your skills and abilities.

 

About you:

  • You are ideally educated to BA Honors Degree level or have the appropriate experience, and are professionally qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA).
  • Experience of Microsoft Dynamics AX or 365 Finance ERP systems is desirable but not essential.
  • You have a proven track record in managing a finance function, preferably in a start-up and fast growth business.
  • You have excellent accounting skills and a proven ability to apply them.
  • You have sound knowledge of UK law and financial practices and lead with the upmost financial integrity – we trust you to keep us right.
  • You are resilient, practical and a real self-starter; you are comfortable working on your own and as part of a team.
  • You can analyze complex financial information and share results and options for decision-making in a clear and concise way.
  • You have superb spoken and written communication skills, and a passion for working with people.
  • You are highly organised with the ability to manage your time effectively and prioritise workload, with multiple conflicting demands.
  • You take a solutions focused approach with great problem-solving abilities.
